Laughter is contagious and our annual benefit, Cocktails and Comedy is too.
Over three years ago, as the country emerged from the global pandemic, FRE hosted a night of pure, clean comedy complete with grins, giggles and guffaws. Regaled by seasoned performers from the L.A. Comedy group, Catholic Laughter, the FUNdraiser proved to be just what the doctor ordered. The event grew in popularity becoming the most successful benefit for us to date, $130,000.
Heading into its fourth year, Cocktails and Comedy focuses on funding student sponsorships to aid our talented students at St. Antoine’s School in Karangazi, Rwanda. Overall expenses to educate a child for one year are $1000 USD. At this event we ask our guests to consider giving one student a chance to overcome poverty through education.
We offer monthly payment plans, making this an affordable gift, and a life changing possibility for a student. While full sponsorships are our goal for the evening, every donation make a difference to these children. During the school year, students correspond with their sponsors sharing profound gratitude and a glimpse into their dreams for the future. If you enjoy a good chuckle, consider joining us for our next Cocktails and Comedy where laughter brings hope to our kids.
