It is with great pride that we return for the 2nd annual Run for Rwanda taking place on Saturday, September 19th, 2020! We can’t thank our supporters enough, no matter how big or how small, for the generous contributions last year.

Success builds on success. And that is why we are thrilled to return for another year via a virtual event. We invite you to gather up family, or a close friend, and run, walk or bike a 5K through your neighborhood in virtual support. Or, if you’d like to see some familiar faces, join fellow supporters of FRE for an informal run or walk at Hudson Springs Park between 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM that day! We will have (socially distanced) bottled water available in the parking lot and plenty of good vibes to go around. If you participated in the 2019 Run for Rwanda, be sure to wear your race shirt! Take a picture of your virtual run and send it in! We will post it to our website and social media channels and enter you into a drawing to receive a free entrance fee for next year’s race!

Your donations go far! 95% of your donation goes toward educating these children.

To that end, the funds received from our first year were used to complete Phase 1 of construction on a new secondary boarding school in a remote area of Northern Rwanda. Opening the school in early 2020 was the goal, and we were able to achieve that by opening with six classrooms. The long-term vision is to have several dozen classrooms to educate 400 children, grades 7-12. To achieve that, we still need to build more classrooms, dormitories, a kitchen and more for the children to stay safely at school. With 50% of the population under 20 years old, there is a great need to educate the next generation.

Thank you for your generosity, prayers and contributions. The children of Rwanda are so deeply appreciative for their chance at education.

With much love and gratitude,
